For too many days, months, the Muslims have been forgetting (or trying to forget) the Palestinian Cause. Through the siege which lasted more than a year, which led to the slow deaths of hundreds of men, women, and children, we tried to convince ourselves that things are getting better, especially that Gaza or Palestine wasn't there on the top news agenda in that period.

It's shameful that it took 277 innocent civilians to wake us up and make us realise that no it's not over, Palestine is still alive. We see it still breathing with all its wounds, cuts and injuries, this hero never fails to find strength when people doubt it, and continues to fight oppression even if it is to fight alone.

Brothers and sisters, below is an action plan, as Productive Muslims, who want to contribute to the world and this Ummah, sign up for this and forward it to as many people as you can:

1) Firstly, I ask you by Allah, to truly care about the situation in Palestine. You might say "Of course I care!" But I'm not referring to the care that moves us for 2 days then we go back to our old heedless way. But a care that moves you, drives you, and makes this cause your life cause. Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said, the one who does not care about Muslims is not one of them. So we've no choice but to care, but I want you to go that extra step and care deeply about this issue.

2) Show solidarity in every way possible - Al-hamdulillah, we live in the new era of social media, where broadcasters are fighting for attention with YouTube, facebook and others. Seize this opportunity, think of creative ways to sway world's opinion about this issue, remove the blindness from their eyes, and move people to call for an end to this injustice! If you're a blogger, write about this issue. If you use facebook, start a group or join a group that supports this cause. If you've a mailing list, send information out, let people be aware. If you're good with YouTube, let the next big hit on YouTube be about Palestine! Let's actually work hard, and spend days/night just working on this issue.

3) Change yourself - believe it or not brothers/sisters, our sins are directly related to the situation in Palestine. An entire nation at the time of Moses faced a famine, because of one man who used to commit a sin. Don't let your sin be the reason for the delay in this Ummah's victory. Look within yourself, and ask yourself, can the pleasure of the sin you commit be worth the life of a child? the life of your mother in Palestine? the life of a nation. Then stop today! stop now! Repent, and show Allah sincerity in your repentance so He bestows upon us the awaited victory.

4) Donate generously! Islamic Relief, Interpal, Human Appeal International and many other charity organisations are all collecting aid for brothers/sisters in Gaza. Dig deep into your pockets and help them!

5) Dua, Dua, Dua - this is the weapon of the believer. Why do we underestimate the power of dua?! Is it because we don't see an effect. Remember the hadeeth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) that we should not hasten with the dua, the companions asked what it means to hasten with a dua, He (Peace be upon him) said the one who makes dua, sees no answer so he gives up making that dua. Don't give up with this issue, let it be the dua in every prostration, every prayer. Who knows, perhaps a cry from a sincere dua you made for our brothers/sisters in Palestine will turn the winds of fate and save a child, and the entire Gaza strip!

I beg you all to heed the above advice, and to take the Palestinian cause to heart. Remember, the victory is definitely coming, the question is: will you be part of it or not?
